Sale of RUAG Australia successfully completed
The Swiss aerospace group RUAG International has successfully transferred all shares of RUAG Australia Pty Ltd to the Australian sovereign defence, advanced manufacturing and sustainment group, ASDAM. RUAG International previously announced the signing of a sale agreement on 1st April 2022. As a result, ASDAM will take over all business activities and all employees at the Australian sites at the beginning of September....
The ASDAM Group is Australia's largest supplier for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program and manages a number of Defence and non-Defence programs. RUAG Australia’s core business lines include aerostructures manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), additive repair technology and surface treatment. The sale of RUAG Australia follows the divestment strategy defined by the Swiss Federal Council.
Focus on space market
For RUAG International, the transfer of ownership of all shares in ASDAM is another important milestone on the way to becoming an agile company focused on the space market. RUAG Australia's activities were combined within the Group in the RUAG MRO International business unit. Attractive succession solutions have been found for the entire business unit in recent months and years, including the transfer of all employees - such as the sale of RUAG Simulation & Training to Thales in May 2022. With the completion of the last divestment of this segment, it will now be dissolved. RUAG International now consists of the two segments Beyond Gravity (formerly RUAG Space) and RUAG Aerostructures. The sale of RUAG Ammotec to the Italian Beretta Holding was also completed at the end of July 2022.
